Emergency Assistance
Each year, the Metro Atlanta Red Cross responds immediately to more than 700 disasters, including house or apartment fires (the majority of disaster responses), hurricanes, floods, tornadoes, hazardous materials spills, and other natural and man-made disasters in our 15- county area. Trained Red Cross volunteers and staff are ready 24-hours-a-day, year-round to meet the disaster-caused needs of people in our community:

Disaster Preparedness
The Red Cross works year-round to help people prepare for disasters and emergencies before they happen through the sharing of information, community presentations and public service announcements. Our goals are to:
- Raise public awareness of the natural and human-caused hazards that threaten them
- Educate people on what they can and should do to better protect themselves and their property and
- Motivate people to take these steps
