Workplace Training Courses

The American Red Cross Workplace Training Program provides the latest in lifesaving and safety instruction. Build the program that works for your business using our modular curriculum. Choose a course that suits you and your employees’ needs and we will provide onsite training for our classes. We also offer one-hour long, workplace health hour modules designed to supplement our core courses. Many courses are also available in Spanish.

Adult CPR or Adult CPR with AED. Teaches individuals how to recognize and provide basic care for breathing and cardiac emergencies in adults. Adult CPR/AED is available in a 4-1/2 hour course with AED training included. Also available in Spanish.

Adult CPR with First Aid (Standard First Aid). Teaches how to recognize and care for breathing and cardiac emergencies in adults. Gain the knowledge and skills necessary to prevent, recognize and provide basic care for injuries and sudden illnesses until advanced medical personnel arrive and take over. This course is also offered just as Adult CPR.

Adult, Infant and Child CPR with First Aid. Trains individuals to become familiar with how to recognize and care for victims of illness and sudden injuries, to overcome any reluctance to act in emergency situations, and to recognize and care for life-threatening respiratory of cardiac emergencies in infants and children. This class is perfect for child-care workers, expectant parents and grandparents.

Infant and Child CPR with First Aid (also without First Aid). Teaches how to identifying and care for breathing and cardiac emergencies in infants and children. Also provides training in accident and injury prevention and what to do in the event of a life-threatening emergency. Ideal for child-care workers, expectant parents and grandparents.

First Aid (without CPR). Introduces participants to emergency action steps -- check, call, care -- and to first aid procedures for injuries and sudden illnesses.

AED Training (Automated External Defibrillator). This course can be added on to many of our Adult CPR classes. Individuals learn the importance of AEDs and how to operate an AED in case of a sudden cardiac emergency.

Emergency Response. This course uses lectures, discussion and simulated emergency situations to deliver information on recognizing and caring for many types of emergencies. Appropriate for individuals who have a duty to respond in emergency situations (first responders) with the knowledge and skills necessary to help sustain life, reduce pain, and minimize the consequences of injury or sudden illness. Includes learning how to use an automated external defibrillation (AED) until advanced medical help arrives. Consistent with the U.S. Department of Transportation first responder curriculum.

CPR for the Professional Rescuer. Teaches professional rescuers (those with a duty to respond) the skills needed to respond appropriately to respiratory and cardiac emergencies.

Oxygen Administration. Trains professional rescuers (those with a duty to respond) and laypersons with the knowledge and skills needed to know when and how to use supplemental oxygen and breathing devices. Professional rescuers also learn advanced skills in airway management in the administration of oxygen.

Bloodborne Pathogens Training. A two-hour course for employers and employees teaches participants who may be exposed on the job to blood or other body fluids that could cause infection how to prevent exposures and what to do if exposed to infectious materials. Employers can offer this program as part of their compliance with OSHA’s revised Bloodborne Pathogens Standard. Also available in Spanish.
