- The Metropolitan Atlanta Chapter received its charter in 1914.
- The Metro Atlanta Chapter is the largest chapter in the Southeast and the seventh largest chapter in our Red Cross network of 700-plus chapters nationwide.
- We carry out our Red Cross mission with approximately 60 full-time and 22 part-time employees, and the help of 1,000-plus registered volunteers, including a 33-member board of directors.
- We serve 13 counties in metro Atlanta with a population of 5 million.
- We also provide regional support for eleven Red Cross Community Chapters across the state of Georgia.
- The Metro Atlanta Chapter supports the efforts of the Blood Services Southern Region headquartered in Douglasville, Georgia, which collects processes and distributes life-saving blood to more than 130 hospitals in the state. (The Atlanta-Midtown Blood Donor Center is located in our chapter headquarters building.)

- Mobilizes relief to families affected by 70,000 disasters,
- Keeps U.S .military families connected worldwide,
- Trains more than 10 million people in the skills they need to prepare for and respond to emergencies in their homes, communities and world,
- Supplies one third of the nation’s blood and blood products
- Works with Red Cross partners around the globe to restore hope and dignity to the world’s most vulnerable people.

Directions to the Headquarters Building:
From the North: Take I-85 South, Exit 86 (Peachtree St.- Buford Hwy.), then take the first exit (Armour Dr. - Monroe Dr.). Turn left at the light and go under the bridge. At the next light, yield right onto Monroe Dr. and go approximately one-tenth of a mile. Turn left at the driveway with the American Red Cross sign – the driveway is shared with the Gables Midtown apartment complex. Bear left and follow the driveway to the top of the hill.
From the South: Take I-85 North, Exit 86 (Buford Hwy.), then Exit 27 (Monroe Dr.). At the light, yield right onto Monroe Dr. and go approximately one-tenth of a mile. Turn left at the driveway with the American Red Cross sign – the driveway is shared with the Gables Midtown apartment complex. Bear left and follow the driveway to the top of the hill.

Directions to the Covington Highway Office:
From the North: Take I-285 south, exit 41, Memorial Drive, and turn right, going inside the Perimeter. At the fifth traffic light, turn left on Covington Highway. The Chapter Office is almost immediately on the left between the church and the library.
From the South: Take I-285 north, exit 43, Covington Highway, and turn left, going inside the Perimeter. Go approximately two miles. The Chapter Office is on the right, just before Memorial Drive, between the library and the church.
